Gives Keynote to Wilson Center
Taiwan has taken a whole-of-nation approach to fight the coronavirus
 
TAIPEI, Taiwan, R.O.C. – May 21, 2020 – The Institute for National Defense and Security Research is pleased to share the keynote speech its Chief Executive Officer Chen-wei Lin gave to the Wilson Center Thursday.

The live webcast event was titled: “Taiwan’s Evolving Role in the Global Order: U.S.-Taiwan Relations and Expectations for President Tsai’s Second Term.”

In discussing Taiwan’s democracy and security prospects, Dr Lin stated, “Taiwan has successfully fended off COVID-19, but more than that, the whole-of-nation approach Taiwan has taken demonstrates we will do whatever it takes to protect ourselves and protect our democratic way of life.”
His keynote was followed by a panel comprised of:
  • Randy Schriver, Chairman, Project 2049 Institute
  • Laura Rosenberger, Senior Fellow and Director of the Alliance for Securing Democracy, German Marshall Fund
  • Evan Medeiros, Penner Family Chair in Asian Studies, Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University
  • Vincent Chao, Director of the Political Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO)
