Abstract
Over the years, India has maintained its non-alignment policy but has modified the good-neighbor policy, both policies adopted in the early stage of independence. Preserving peace and stability are still the priorities of India for now, and the development of a Blue-Water Navy could be of help. Pakistan and China remain two rivals closely connected to the disputed area of Kashmir. Additionally, China’s role in the Indian Ocean has become a concern to India and it is critical to examine India’s strategic autonomy in the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue in the years to come.
