Abstract
As far as China's geostrategic intentions are concerned, the westward strategy can not only connect Central Asian countries and ensure the security of Xinjiang, but also connect ports in the Indian Ocean by land, so that Chinese goods can be exported by sea in addition to the China-Europe freight train. More importantly, if the China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative can be completely successful in the future, it is possible for the CCP to become a larger economy entity beyond the United States; because of the decline of the United States’ national strength, the China can gradually replace the influence of the United States in the countries along the route and become a veritable global hegemony.
For those countries that have historical grievances with the China that may lead to conflict, or are competing with the China, of course, they are not happy to see the expansion of the China. If China becomes a global power with a stronger military, India will be particularly sensitive to the China’s westward strategy, and will take strategic responses to the geopolitical impact caused by the westward movement from China.
