ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The Defense Forum on Regional Security began in 2007 as an annual large scale forum on national defense and military affairs organized by the Ministry of National Defense, R.O.C. Research topics include Asia-Pacific issues, national defense policy, military affairs, the threat of the People’s Liberation Army, non-traditional security, etc. This forum has entered its 11th iteration thus far, with participating scholars, experts, and current and former civilian and military leaders invited from the United States, Japan, India, Europe, and other countries. For Taiwan, the forum has been an avenue of dialogue with friendly nations for the purposes of mutual understanding in the region. INDSR has since accepted responsibility for the continuation of the forum starting from 2018, and will continue to welcome scholars and experts on national defense and security, as well current and former officials, for the purposes of multilateral dialogue.
