The Institute for National Defense and Security Research, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC, hosted the Honorable Randall G. Schriver, former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, USA, for a public lecture on 19 February 2020.

Mr Schriver, who is the current Chairman of The Project 2049 Institute, discussed in his lecture the outlook for security in the Indo-Pacific region and ties between Taiwan and the United States. It was followed by Q&A with the press.

Over the past year, INDSR has been honored to host former officials from the Pentagon who have held the top post for Asia policy, including David Shear and Wallace Gregson Jr in March and August, respectively, of last year. Mr Schriver stepped down from his role at the Pentagon at the end of December 2019.
