Abstract
India’s foreign policy has the tradition of non-alignment. After the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, based on its special relations with Russia and its energy and armament needs, India did not adopt the same sanctions and condemnation as the US and Western countries, nor did it agree or support Russia in its aggression against a sovereign state.
If India’s foreign policy is mainly based on its own national interests and becomes a strategic tradition or culture, when China and Russia deepen their strategic cooperation for the needs of countering the United States, or after the Russian-Ukrainian war, China surpasses Russia to become a global military power, India may change its non-alignment policy and strengthen cooperation with the QUAD countries and expand the Indo-Pacific security architecture.
